Pastry Chef (Consulting / Menu Development) – Japanese Restaurant
Yume Sushi Bar is seeking a creative Pastry Chef to collaborate with our team on a short-term consulting project focused on dessert menu development.
We are looking for an experienced pastry professional who can design a small but refined dessert program that complements a Japanese dining experience. The ideal candidate has an understanding of Japanese ingredients and flavor profiles and can incorporate them into elegant, modern desserts.
This is not a full-time kitchen position. Instead, we are looking for someone who can help develop several signature desserts and guide our kitchen team on execution.
Responsibilities
• Develop a small dessert menu that fits a Japanese restaurant concept
• Incorporate Japanese ingredients such as matcha, yuzu, black sesame, hojicha, etc.
• Create recipes and plating concepts that can be consistently executed by our kitchen team
• Provide training or guidance to our staff on how to prepare the desserts
• Help refine presentation and flavor balance to match the restaurant’s style
Qualifications
• Professional pastry chef experience in restaurants, bakeries, or hotels
• Strong background in dessert menu development
• Experience working with Japanese ingredients or Asian flavor profiles is a strong plus
• Ability to create desserts that are both refined and operationally practical for service
• Strong communication and teaching skills
Project Details
