MLK Real Estate Capital (“MLK”) is seeking an exceptional candidate to join its Investment Banking team. Candidates will join a highly collaborative team responsible to originate equity placement and debt placement assignments for Real Estate client sponsors. Originate equity placement and debt placement assignments from the Candidate’s database, as well as leverage/mine the firm’s clients for financing assignments.
Identify, research, and analyze equity placement and debt placement financing opportunities to determine quality of financing transaction.
Utilize senior level relationships to secure and assess financing opportunities (Ideally the Candidate will have a rolodex and an established client base).
Actively pursue financing opportunities among all property types incorporating the full capital stack.
Complete and review valuation analysis
Perform client due diligence on both sponsor level and deal level
Prepare information memoranda and other transaction-related documentation
Attend networking events and industry related conferences
Manage transaction execution process with collaborative support from analysts and other firm professionals
MBA in finance, economics, or a related field from a top university
2-5 years’ experience in investment banking (preferably in real estate finance)
Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives
Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
Analytical and attentive to detail
Strong written and oral communication skills
Effective process management abilities
Solid understanding of Real Estate capital markets and spreadsheet modeling.
Strong presentation skills
Proven networking skills for industry related events
