Job Title: Banquet Captain

Reports To: Director of Food & Beverage

The Role

The Banquet Captain is an enthusiastic, hands-on, and committed leader who supervises the preparation, operation, and execution of all private events. This includes launches, press events, seminars, cocktail functions, plated dinners, conferences, and trade shows. Your time management and planning skills will be essential, and your attention to detail must be second to none.

Our team operates with a "no task is too big or too small" mindset. The Banquet Captain must be prepared to manage through diverse challenges and support all departments in meeting the needs of our guests and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the seamless execution and daily operation of all booked private events, managing on the floor for the duration of the function.
• Lead event pre-production, ensuring all proper signage, collateral, and equipment are in place according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Review all BEOs and work closely with Event Producers to ensure sheets are detailed, correct, and that proper setups are executed.
• Lead and manage internal staff as well as third-party staffing agency waitstaff for each event, ensuring all service standards are strictly followed.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the Events/Sales department and the F&B department to ensure resources are shared efficiently and client expectations are exceeded.
• Responsible for inventory, warehouse organization, and ensuring all event equipment, fixtures, and furniture are kept in good supply and repair.
• Maintain and ensure all function information is kept up to date regarding any last-minute changes or revisions.
• Supervise the cleanup of function rooms, ensuring proper breakdown and organized storage of all equipment.
• Maintain a direct line of communication with the Director of Food & Beverage regarding team performance and operational needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role within banquets or high-volume food and beverage operations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks during live events.
• Excellent communication skills to build relationships across departments and with high-profile guests.
• Ability to remain calm and solutions-oriented under pressure.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50–100 pounds occasionally.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
